IoT cameras and NVRs on your LAN
Default passwords and UPnP still ship with many “security” cameras. Segment them before they segment you.
Cameras watch the parking lot. Attackers watch the cameras.
Baseline
- Change defaults on day one
- Put cameras/NVR on an IoT VLAN without lateral access to servers
- Disable UPnP on the firewall
- Keep firmware updated or replace abandoned brands
Remote viewing
Prefer vendor clouds or VPN over port-forwarding the NVR to the world.
