Cloud storage sync is not a backup
OneDrive and Google Drive mirror mistakes as efficiently as they mirror files. What real backup adds.
Sync protects you from a dead laptop. It does not protect you from ransomware encryption, malicious deletion, or a compromised account emptying the library.
